Project Description
Background
Missouri Botanical Garden developed the Baden Youth Community Garden in partnership with the Riverview West Florissant Development Corporation in the summers of 2015 and 2016. The goal of the Baden Garden was to transform vacant land into productive gardening space to provide summer youth employment, K-8 enrichment, and community programming. The Youth Community Garden was focused in the Baden Neighborhood as part of two larger collaborations aimed at better connecting the social, environmental, and economic aspects of nature to residents: The City of St. Louis’ Urban Vitality and Ecology Initiative (UVEI) and BiodiverseCity St. Louis.
